Garden Diary, 30 September 2007

I've added some garlic to the mesclun patch and composted it so we get a steady stream of stuff. The idea is to leave it mostly to its own devices.

All beds dug and mostly all composted now. Plan for this year is in the book.

Planted lots of garlic this year, some around the apricot and the rest at the end of one of the beds. Left a couple of plants to naturalise so will be interesting to see what they do.

Speaking of the apricot, the plan is to develop a guild around it this year. I've got some garic in there, and will plant a ring of daffodils around it whenever you do that. I'll also put some nasturtiums and broad beans in there - hopefully these will grow up the tree trunk, which should make for a nice display. Might also try some sweet peas.
